The Okavango River Basin in Botswana is the world's largest inland delta. It is home to an abundance of wildlife and provides seasonal habitat to numerous different species. The basin remains one of the least human impacted basins on the African continent, but mounting socio-economic pressures on the Okavango threaten it's resources and would result in a change of its present character. It is anticipated that in the long term this may result in irretrievable environmental breakdown.
